Since 1990, Mongolia has made a peaceful political and economic transition from a centrally planned socialist economy to a democratic society and free market economy. The transition represents a positive beginning for Mongolia, but the consequence of dramatic political, economic and social change have caused negative effects on the lives of many Mongolians resulting in rising poverty, inequality, unemployment and uncertainty about the future. Mongolia's youth, which represents almost a third of the population have been greatly effected by these changes.
The MYDF has established a framework of programmes specifically designed to target the current problems faced by youth. Unfortunately given Mongolia's present economic and social climate, internal resources are limited. For this reason, the MYDF must turn to the international community for sponsorship on any level in order to continue these programmes, and offer Mongolian youth a brighter future.
To maintain these programmes successfully we need funding for from international donor organisations, private and corporate companies or foundations and also individuals.
