The 'My Passport' movement was established to increase youth activity in social
life. A variety of initiatives organised with secondary schools, caring centers
and youth-led movements offer a way to decrease the differences of opportunity
which at present exist between young people. Activities are designed to encourage
social participation, to develop interpersonal social skills and to make youth
aware of their rights.
A range of activities and campaigns focus on the five main objectives of the
'My Passport' Movement.
- To develop youth as responsible individuals
- To encourage active participation in group decision making
- To increase health knowledge
- To develop communication skills and self-expression
- To impart the importance of volunteering and community service
The movement began in November 2001 as a pilot project and ran for seven months.
The movement was a great success with over 12,000 participants. The second
phase of the project will be endorsed by the Prime Minister of Mongolia, N.Enkhbayar,
in association with the National Committee of Children.
UNICEF Mongolia sponsored the movement as part of the project, 'Improving
the Outlook of Adolescents Girls (Boys) of Mongolia.'
